Our History

WISE was established as an UMSU affiliated club in 2010 to promote the many women and non-binary people in Science and Engineering at the University of Melbourne. With the aim of inspiring more female and non-binary Science and Engineering students into their respective industries, we've grown to hold a wide range of events to this end. Our upskilling workshops, site visits, trivia nights, panels, yearly Networking Night and famed Coffee and Cake events help link the UniMelb WISEdom with our industry connections, providing an inclusive community dedicated to the advancement of professional and determined women and non-binary people in STEMM. With our committee building on the tireless work of previous years, and drawing from a wide range of studies, interests and backgrounds, 2020 is sure to be a great year to be a woman or a non-binary person in Science and Engineering.
